Session 1 — The One-Shot
Area: a mansion
Details pending. Global layout only; the account below is to be filled in.
Context
Run as a one-shot, not as the opening of a campaign. It became the campaign's first session in retrospect, once play continued. It is numbered 1 because that is the DM's count.
Percival Vale was played here. He is the same character carried forward into the campaign — the one-shot and the campaign are one continuous character for him. Lady Agnes Merrow was played here and nowhere else.
What Happened
The one-shot took place in a mansion, and was played through to its end.
During it, the party learned of cards that hold magic. Named so far: The Well, The Veil, The Nightmare, The Maiden, The Crown, The Thread — and the set is larger. What they are, how they work, and how many exist is to be recorded in cards/ — explanation pending from the player.

- Whether this mansion is the abandoned noble estate outside Briar Hollow, or the mansion the party went to in session 4. Nothing connects them yet.
- The rest of the roster — whether the other players carried their one-shot characters forward the way Percival was, or made new ones for Briar Hollow.
